When you make a donation to ARC through the ARC Living Memorial Fund, a 501(c)3 organization, you are helping provide a comprehensive range of recreational activities and services to the 55+ community. By donating, you leave a legacy that helps to ensure that our mission to support whole health wellness and to enhance quality of life for the Bloomington-Normal seniors can be fulfilled. Read on to learn more about fundraising priorities for 2024 and all the ways you can give today!
We have many goals for the future of ARC as we grow & evolve to best meet the needs of members and the community. When you give a gift to the ARC Living Memorial Fund, you can choose to designate that gift to the green space project, fitness programming upgrades, classroom updates, or general support.
Two of the ARC team’s goals for the next year are to expand the shaded area of our new green space and supplement maintenance of the condition and quality of our now 9-year-old equipment and facility, while also building a contingency reserve for unplanned future expenses not budgeted by Normal Township.
If each member made a gift of just $30 to the Build the ARC Campaign from September through the end of the year, they could help raise nearly $110,000 to support these goals.
ARC greatly appreciates your consideration of making a charitable gift to benefit local seniors. Contact ARC Communications Coordinator Samantha Scott at sscott@normaltownship.org or 309-888-9099 to discuss fundraising goals and ways to give, or see the information listed below.
2024 Build the ARC Campaign
The ARC Living Memorial Fund has determined the following priorities for charitable contributions to the 2024 Build the ARC Campaign.
Fitness Programming Upgrades & Additions – Replace aging equipment and provide options that meet ADA specifications and upgrade protective fitness dividers for Rec Room enhancement.
Classroom Updates – Replace and upgrade aging countertops and equipment used for art and craft-related programming including storage and organizational equipment.
Green Space Initiative– Support green space upgrades and additions such as a shade structure
to help make the space more usable and comfortable for presenters and participants.
If you’d like to give a gift but don’t have a specific priority in mind, you may choose to make a gift toward general support and ensure that ARC can continue to make a difference for local seniors now and into the future. If you'd like to make a monetary gift toward the purchase of a specific item that may or may not fall within the above listed priorities , you must receive approval from the ARC Management Team.

This walkthrough video gives you an idea of what the green space can look like once complete. The outdoor space will have accessible walking paths, raised garden beds, native plants, a large patio for class space and socializing, and a lawn.
The Giving Tree is a one-of-a-kind piece of art created by ISU professor, Randy Reid. The tree allows members, their families, and individuals and businesses in the community to show their support for local seniors by leaving a legacy at ARC. Obtaining a leaf on the tree requires a $500.00 contribution. Gifts can be made to any of the designations listed above, and you can choose between 3 message options:
