Build the ARC 2026 Fundraising Priorities

We have many goals for the future of ARC as we grow & evolve to best meet the needs of members and the community. When you give a gift to the ARC Living Memorial Fund, you can choose to designate that gift to the green space project, fitness programming upgrades, classroom updates, or general support.

ARC greatly appreciates your consideration of making a charitable gift to benefit local seniors. Contact ARC Communications Coordinator Samantha Scott at sscott@normaltownship.org or 309-888-9099 to discuss fundraising goals and ways to give, or see the information listed below.

2026 Build the ARC Campaign

The ARC Living Memorial Fund has determined the following priorities for charitable contributions to the 2026 Build the ARC Campaign.

Fitness Programming Upgrades & Additions – Replace aging equipment and provide options that meet ADA specifications.

Classroom Updates – Replace and upgrade aging countertops and cabinetry to improve functionality and organization of the space for a variety of art and craft-based programs.

Green Space Initiative– Support green space upgrades and additions such as purchase of outdoor furniture, upkeep needs, and plantings.

If you’d like to give a gift but don’t have a specific priority in mind, you may choose to make a gift toward general support and ensure that ARC can continue to make a difference for local seniors now and into the future. A 2026 goal for general support is the replacement of our now 10-year-old audio/visual equipment in the auditorium so it remains reliable and compatible with current technologies available. This update must occur by October, when technologies are set to phase out.

If each member made a gift of just $30 to the Build the ARC Campaign, they could help raise nearly $120,000 to support these goals.

If you'd like to make a monetary gift toward the purchase of a specific item that may or may not fall within the above listed priorities , you must receive approval from the ARC Management Team.

Greenspace Pavilion Coming Soon!

Check out a rendering for the pavilion project!

We thank Suzanne Sherman, ARC's former Tai Chi instructor, for her leadership gift in 2025 that will fully fund the greenspace pavilion project and all of our 2025/2026 greenspace donors for their support that will continue to provide for upkeep of the space and furniture and planting additions as needed. Work is expected to begin on ARC's greenspace pavilion project in late spring/early summer, and we couldn't be more excited!

Stay tuned for more information in the coming months regarding project progress and any impacts the work may have on east parking and/or building access.

Introducing the Build the ARC Breakfast 2026

Support the ARC Living Memorial Fund by Enjoying a Good Meal!

Normal Township ARC is hosting our first Build the ARC Fundraising Breakfast in support of the ARC Living Memorial Fund this National Senior Center Month. Enjoy a breakfast by Nelson’s Catering, hear member stories via video and an impact panel, and be there to celebrate as we present awards to a few special individuals and organizations who made ARC’s first 10 years of growth and service not only possible, but as special as they have been. There will also be an appeal to make a donation in support of the ALMF. Registration for the general public will open July 15th and can be done individually or in groups of up to 7 as space allows. We hope to raise $700 per 7-person table, but donations of any amount will be appreciated to support the continued growth of ARC and its programs. Please email Communications Coordinator Samantha Scott with questions or to register.

Learn about our goals for the green space project for which planning and fundraising began in 2019.

This walkthrough video gives you an idea of what the green space can look like once complete.  The outdoor space will have accessible walking paths, raised garden beds, native plants, a large patio for class space and socializing, and a lawn.

ARC's Giving Tree

The Giving Tree is a one-of-a-kind piece of art created by ISU professor, Randy Reid.  The tree allows members, their families, and individuals and businesses in the community to show their support for local seniors by leaving a legacy at ARC.  Obtaining a leaf on the tree requires a $500.00 contribution.  Gifts can be made to any of the designations listed above, and you can choose between 3 message options:

Cash Gifts: ARC can accept monetary donations by cash and check at the center. Credit and debit card gifts must be made here on our website or through Facebook. Please make checks payable to ARC Living Memorial Fund.  Fill out the LMF Contribution Form below, and mail it with your gift.

  • Matched Gift: When you decide to support ARC with a monetary gift, make sure you check to see if you work for (or are retired from) a company that matches charitable gifts for employees and retirees.  A matching gift company is one that will match your gift in a specific ratio.  Matching gifts require that the donor completes a matching gift form obtained from his or her employer's Human Resources Department.  Typically, all you need is a receipt of your gift to ARC for your employer to verify before obtaining the matching gift form.  Return completed forms to your employer's Human Resources Department.

Life Insurance:  Obtain a beneficiary designation form from your life insurance provider, and name ARC Living Memorial Fund as the beneficiary.

Bequest:  Make a gift to the ARC Living Memorial Fund in your will.

Gifts of Equipment:  Please contact Director of Programming Molly Camper, if you have an interest in donating equipment to ARC.  mcamper@normaltownship.org
